Caring Professionals Opens Yonkers Office, Bringing 30 Years of Home Care to Westchester

Caring Professionals is now open in Westchester. Our new office at 91 Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers brings more than three decades of New York home care experience to the county’s families, with the same standard that has defined our work since 1994: aides matched by language, culture, and personality, coordinated locally by people who know the communities they serve.

For Westchester families, the practical meaning is simple. Home care that was previously coordinated from our Bronx office now has a home of its own in the county — with local care coordinators, local aide recruitment, and a front door on Riverdale Avenue that families can walk through.

A Grand Opening Worth Celebrating

We marked the occasion properly. On August 18, our team welcomed Yonkers neighbors, local families, and community partners to the new office for a grand opening celebration — refreshments, giveaways, and a grand raffle whose lucky winner took home a 60-inch flat screen television. The turnout told us something we already suspected: Westchester families have been waiting for a home care agency that combines genuine local presence with deep New York roots, and the welcome we received on Riverdale Avenue confirmed that Yonkers is exactly where we should be.

Why Westchester, and Why Now

Westchester’s senior population is among the fastest growing in New York State, and the county’s families face the same questions we have helped answer across the city for thirty years — how to arrange care after a hospital discharge, how to navigate Medicaid and Managed Long Term Care, how to find an aide who genuinely fits. For years we served Westchester families from our Bronx office on East 149th Street; the demand grew to the point where the county deserved its own operation. The Yonkers office anchors our home care services across New York at their northern edge — serving Yonkers itself and reaching across the county to Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, White Plains, Bronxville, Scarsdale, and beyond.

Yonkers is the right home for that operation. New York State’s third largest city holds one of Westchester’s most diverse populations — including one of the county’s largest Spanish-speaking communities, established Jewish communities in the neighborhoods bordering Riverdale, and Portuguese, Brazilian, and Caribbean communities with deep roots in southwest Yonkers. Language and cultural matching, the foundation of how we place every aide, matters here as much as it does anywhere in the five boroughs.

What the Yonkers Office Brings to Westchester Families

The new office is a full care coordination center, not a satellite desk. Our Westchester coordinators handle placements, supervise care, and respond to the daily realities of home care from Riverdale Avenue — which means faster response times, local knowledge of Westchester’s hospitals and community resources, and home health aides and personal care assistants recruited from the communities they serve. Families coordinating a discharge from Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, St. John’s Riverside, Westchester Medical Center, or White Plains Hospital now work with coordinators who know those institutions and their discharge processes firsthand.

The full range of our services comes with the office: personal care and assistance with daily living, dementia and Alzheimer’s support, care for Holocaust survivors through our Caring Companions program, veterans’ home care, and multilingual placements across the more than twenty languages our workforce speaks. Families beginning the process after a hospitalization will find our guide to hospital discharge and home care in New York a practical starting point.

Medicaid, MLTC, Insurance, and Private Pay in Westchester

We accept Medicaid, Managed Long Term Care, long-term care insurance, and private pay in Westchester, exactly as we do across the city. For families navigating Medicaid-funded home care for the first time — eligibility, MLTC plan enrollment, and the assessment that authorizes care hours — our guide to how Medicaid home care works in New York walks through the whole process in plain language, and our Yonkers coordinators are experienced in guiding families through it. For families funding care independently or through long-term care insurance, our private pay arrangements offer immediate starts and flexible scheduling with the same matching standard.

Westchester Caregivers: You’re Worth More Here

A new office means new opportunities — and we are hiring across Westchester now. Home health aides and personal care assistants joining our Yonkers team earn up to $23 per hour with up to $1,000 in bonuses, alongside the support that has made Caring Professionals a place aides stay: consistent scheduling, responsive coordinators, and placements matched to your languages and strengths. If you are an aide in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, or anywhere in the county — or you know someone who would make a wonderful caregiver — visit our careers page or stop by the office on Riverdale Avenue. We would love to meet you.
