Our PCA Training is conveniently located in Hempstead, Long Island.
This comprehensive 6-day course, available Monday to Friday from 9AM to 5PM, offers bilingual instruction in both Spanish and English.
Designed for your convenience, our schedule accommodates your commitments while equipping you with essential skills.

Meet Roger Rico, a registered nurse and vibrant member of our incredible team at Caring Professionals Inc. With 12+ years of experience in the health care industry; his job is one of high importance; Mr. Rico provides English & Spanish PCA Training Classes to persons interested in having a career in Home Care.
Roger Rico has a Masters in Nursing from Excelsior College. He is also a Certified ESL teacher.
When he is not training our new set of PCA’s, Roger enjoys football games, drawing and exercising. He uses his passion in sports to make his body and mind healthy…that’s two birds with one stone!

How long is PCA training?
Our PCA training program in New York runs over six class days, 9 AM to 5 PM, at our Hempstead, Long Island classroom. It covers the New York State Department of Health curriculum for personal care aides, and you finish with your certificate.
Does a PCA certificate expire?
No. A New York PCA certificate does not expire. Once you are working, your agency provides the short annual in-service training the state requires to keep your skills current, and your listing on the New York State Home Care Registry stays active while you are employed.
Is PCA training free in New York?
At Caring Professionals, PCA training is offered at no cost to people who go on to work with us as aides. You apply, attend the course, and start work with an agency that has served New York families since 1994. What documents do I need to start PCA training?
A Social Security card, valid photo ID, proof of COVID vaccination, and a pre-employment physical. The background check is arranged and paid for by Caring Professionals.
Is PCA training available in Spanish?
Yes. Our classes are taught bilingually in Spanish and English, and we place Spanish-speaking aides with families across Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Long Island.
PCA vs. HHA: which certificate should I get?
Both lead to work. PCA training is shorter and qualifies you for personal care and housekeeping roles. HHA training is longer (75 hours minimum in New York) and adds health-related tasks such as taking vital signs, so HHAs can take a wider range of cases and generally more hours. Many aides start as PCAs and complete HHA training later; if you already know you want the broader role, see our HHA training page.
